Children’s Hospital Playroom Murals

These murals were installed in the playroom of the new Children’s Ward in the Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas.  We did some other interior work for the nurses’ station and for the examination room.  These two murals were installed with a hard coated construction foam frame that Cindy designed.  The goal was to give the appearance of two aquarium windows in the room.

The mural with the manatee is 4 feet high by 8 feet wide.  It was painted on canvas and installed on site.  The dolphin mural is 4 feet high by 6 feet wide.

Both murals are framed by custom made construction foam coated with a durable hard-coating and finished with joint compound.   Seams were sealed with caulk on the inside and out. Finally they were painted to match the walls

I also added several coats of clear to help with the many little hands that would be touching these murals.
